Greetings, Universe!

Welcome to the first official blog of WomanAstronomer.com. I’m so happy you’ve chosen to join me and look forward to sharing some of my thoughts about women in astronomy.

Besides women astronomers, there are a number of topics I’ll write about in this space. I’m very interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) issues and education in general, especially how it affects girls. I’m sure I’ll throw in some science fiction (because that’s the path that led me to astronomy), some NASA and the New Space industry news, and anything else under the Sun that is hot.

I’ll also be turning you on to links and videos I run across which I think you’ll find of interest and who knows what else I’ll find intriguing and want to share with you.

Finally, and most importantly, I’d like to know what you want to see in this blog, so please feel free to drop me a comment with any suggestions you may have.

Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to getting to know you. Oh, and please be sure to sign up to be notified of future entries.

Clear skies!
Debra

PS – Don’t forget to go outside the next couple of nights to check out the Perseid Meteor Shower, one of the best of the year.

  1. Great site i am so glad i have signed up for the newsletter recently. I did a course in Astronomy a few years ago in my local centre for adult education and very interesting it was too. I have read books by David levy my particular special one is (skywatching) so informative and it really gives you so much insight into Astronomy. I have had an interest in this subject for many years but some years ago i read Stephen Hawkings ( a brief history of time) and that really did kick-start my interest even more. I am sure i will enjoy the regular newsletter and find out even more about this amazing subject.

  2. Hey, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility issues.
When I look at your blog site in Opera, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer,
it has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a quick heads up!
    Other then that, superb blog!
